Hi! My name is Houston Tackett and I am a current Junior at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas majoring in Electronic Media with a minor in Theatre.
Growing up, I found a passion for Theatre, participating in plays and musicals throughout middle and high school. During my senior year, I served as Webmaster, where I completely overhauled kleincollinsdrama.com, created new logos and branding for the organization, and led the Instagram page by creating promotional videos and graphics to promote shows and social events inside of the organization.
I decided to pursue a degree in Electronic Media to do more of what I had been doing during High School. Taking courses such as Film Production Practices allowed me to hone my videography skills, while Video Production let me apply those principles to compelling news packages and broadcasts.
Moving to Junior year, I joined the Gold Star Society, a presidential ambassadorship organization for Texas State University where I represent the university and high-profile events. This would also be the year that I developed a passion for photography, getting to photograph musician Dean Lewis in Austin, Texas for the zine UNIA. I was a production crew intern for the TEDxTexasStateUnversity event where I shot b-roll promotional content for the event. Currently I am an Intern at Sun Radio in Austin!
